If you want an application to capture video from your webcam for any purpose, AMCap comes across as a viable option. As you capture the video from your webcam, the program automatically sends to your hard drive. You can save the video in AVI or MPREG2 (improved in the new version) formats, but this implies that you have the necessary codecs in place to begin with.
But this is not all. You also get DV camcorder and analog tuner support. You can also avail a variety of video capturing options like zooming. In addition, you can also take screenshots (but not automated snapshots) using AMCap. Other features that come with the enhance version include video preview, parameter persistence, full-screen, compression, and special effects like transparency, graphic overlay, and alpha-blending. Overall, AMCap is a simple-to-use video capturing application.
It also helps you record audio through your webcam, which is a plus. However, do note that AMCap is not an app for webcam monitoring. In this respect, you will not find this application particularly useful. In addition, while files are automatically saved to your hard drive, these video files take a lot of space, which means you may need to get extra storage as well.
